The History They Tried to Bury

It targets the starving by luring them into food queues, then shoots them. As policy. Its ministers say “death is not painful enough” for civilians. That “killing is not enough.” Its doctors have signed public letters urging the government not to stop, yes NOT TO STOP, the bombing of civilians. Its parliamentarians stand on the legislative floor and openly call for the extermination of children. This is not some dark, distant history. This is happening now. This is state doctrine just a few miles from my house. This country bombs my country, Lebanon, every single day—while claiming there's a ceasefire. And yet, in my own country, many people choose to trivialize this violence. Some go so far as to deny the campaign of destruction Israel has waged against us since its birth, long before any paramilitaries existed. That is why I am doing this series called "A History of Violence." To remind you of what too many have chosen to forget. Why? Because knowledge is power, and when you're arsenal-poor, you are obligated to be education-rich; otherwise, you have nothing. Trust me: they fear the educated more than the armed. So, in this video, I’m taking you back—before 1948—to show you how Israel was created, and what it did to Lebanon from the moment it came into existence. It’s time to confront the truth. Everyone must know this.
