Lucky You!
ОМСК The Moscow as the Third Rome title is taken very seriously or with derision. Derision comes from those who are usually not religious, those who have imbibed a Western mindset, and those willing to turn a blind eye to the cavalcade of anti-family, anti-prosperity, and pro-control of everything else. Anti-prosperity is seen in high taxes in the West, sometimes up to half the salary. This week the Duran also claimed that the average GDP of a citizen of Russia was the same as that of an Englishman for the first time in history. GDP is a terrible mark for measuring quality of life, and yet that is something to consider. Certainly, Moscow's quality of life would rank much higher than London's or Paris's or New York's. Remember the poor lady in New York that fell under the wheel of a subway train and yet begged not to be taken to the hospital, as it would bankrupt her. Greed is a fault found everywhere, but during the time of Ilf and Petrov's journeys across America, greed or profit was earned by good-quality service and products. But no more! A tangible change happened about 15 years ago, and since that time, the global elite especially has openly served itself exclusively almost.Once when in Florida and needing to catch our flight back to Russia, the American airline simply canceled the flight right before takeoff. Since everything was online, no one was there to help at any of the counters, and no one cared either. The staff just marched away with vague words. So a few thousand dollars went out the window. What was amusing, sort of, is that my wife determined that American airports ran orderly and that we didn't need a long layover in New York, because that would be way too much for her, and she was so confident in the western so-called capitalistic system. But that is a chimera. Capitalism there has no pity, but homeless shelters and food lines and food stamps it has, combined with 60,000 people living on the streets in the open air in Los Angeles. Recently, I read the account of a twenty-year-old Omsk man who decided to get to America, and he managed with several others to roll across the California checkpoint to get in and then was promptly imprisoned. Let loose months later, he was working as a dishwasher and deliveryman. At one point, a gang of Black people jumped him and tried to steal his bike, leaving him with a concussion. Afraid to go to the police and unwilling to go to the hospital, he nevertheless had to be at work in the evening washing dishes. After making some anti-Russian government videos earlier, he realized he burned his bridges behind him and is stuck. There's nothing wrong with flipping burgers or washing dishes in the U.S., but the problem is that the money is negligible. I know, as I did these jobs firsthand. For one, white men are not hired for management positions, only women or Blacks. Fast food restaurants only hire you for so many hours as to remain under the obligation of paying benefits. Working as a prep cook once, I remember making 100 dollars a week. My student loans cost about $350/month, and I was getting to work in a hand-me-down car. I had no money for anything, obviously, and what should have been the best years of my life were simply dreadful. In fact, all the multitude of jobs in the D.C. The Baltimore area was simply awful, whether working for Superior Electronic Doors, gardening facilities, fast food, factories, or with the mentally handicapped. The $3.35/hr or the $9.71/hr jobs were simply enough to put gas in the car, and then the difficulty began. One could get a cheap flat but have no food. Or if food, then no money for a flat. America was simply terrible, a dream breaker, and that combined with Protestant freak churches or liberals going down the drain and pulling everything with them.
